Derrick Garrett serves as the Manager, Employee Benefits Distribution with responsibility for sales and marketing of Employee benefit products in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.  Prior to Joining Guardian he successfully grew the Nemcare Health Insurance program in Barbados working for our sister company NEM West Indies Insurance Limited (Nemwil) through its local agent in Barbados. He also worked at Life of Barbados for a number of years as Group Insurance Manager. A Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), and a Health Insurance Associate (HIA) he has over 24 years experience in the insurance and Employee Benefits industry specializing Group life, Health and Pensions benefits. He is a former national basketball player and now serves as the organizing secretary of the Barbados Amateur Basketball Association. He is married with 2 children. 

Patrick Charles, Life Sales 

Patrick Charles has over 30 years experience in the life insurance industry and brings to the table a wealth of experiences drawn from the many and varied capacities in which he has served both companies and the industry alike. The testimony to his success in agency management is borne out by the fact that he has the distinction of leading a former agency to the Agency of the Year Award on seven (7) consecutive occasions. He has functioned in all areas of agency management, including the executive level having served as Superintendent of agencies with another insurer. His career dream is to see charitable giving through life insurance develop as a viable mechanism for the long-term funding of charities and not for profit organizations across the Caribbean. In support of this, he has already done presentations on the topic to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Barbados, The Rotary Club of Barbados South LIONS Clubs and The Barbados Community Foundation

Mr. King serves as Manager Employee Benefits Operations with responsibility for the administration of the Employee Benefits portfolio.  Mr. King has over twenty years experience in the Insurance industry, most of them being in the Underwriting and claims management of Employee Benefits Insurance programmes.  He has earned the insurance industry designations of Health Insurance Associate (HIA) and Associate Life & Health Claims (ALHC). Winfield is married with 3 children
